“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery” (Gal. 5:1).

“…the ones who live in error, promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption…” (II Peter 2:18-19).

Christians should be the most FREE people in the entire world. Paul reminds us that Christ set us free and we should be learning how not to become subject again to bondage (jail cell) of sin.

“Freedom is not free,” a popular phrase over the past several years is exactly what the Bible teaches. Humanity was “slaves of corruption” and it took the death of the Son of God to set us FREE. Let’s exercise our freedom from sin on a daily basis by sharing the Word of God with those in bondage to sin and by “standing firm” in and with that Word.

Peter reminds us of those who actually live/exist as “slaves of corruption,” promising FREEDOM through their sinful ways/lives. Does this Biblical fact remind us of some/many this very day who claim to be FREE but are enslaved to sin? As Christians, we need to be students of the Bible, “equipped to thwart the fiery darts of the evil one(s), “daily buffeting ourselves,” and “working out our own salvation.”

Let’s remind ourselves as Christians, Americans, and saved-sinners that the Truth will set us FREE and God approves of those who study His Word, the Bible.

The Word, Jesus, will make us free! Keep studying THE Word for therein is eternal life and freedom from sin.
